We're happy to announce a major end-of-summer upgrade that introduces a number of big improvements to our skins. We've re-worked all the skins to fully support the native Roundcube logo configuration with the addition of some options that are only available in the Roundcube Plus skins. Of course the light/dark mode of Roundcube 1.5 is fully supported. We've added the "Skin Look & Feel" functionality to the Larry-based skins, included some new fonts and icons, and refreshed the look of all the skins, fixing a lot of UI issues in the process. For example, all the skins correctly recognize the primary and secondary buttons; the html editor on the compose page is styled correctly to reflect the skin settings; and much more!

The newly released Signature plugin introduces a lot of exciting functionality. The logo images can now be uploaded in SVG format, which means that the images can stay sharp on high resolution displays. All the social icon images have also been converted to SVG and optimized to improve their quality and minimize their size.

A new config option allows the admins to specify the default signature logo, which eliminates the need for the employess to search for and upload the company logo in their signature builder. Again, if the default logo is provided in SVG format, all the employees will enjoy the improved image quality out of the box.

We created a system to fix the default PHP date formatting that swaps the day and month values in the dates formatted as d/m/y. The users in the countries where this formatting is common (for example, Brazil) will have no more problems with creating recurring calendar events.

We discovered that the Google Drive Javascript code imported by the xgoogle_drive plugin interfered with the scrollbar functionality in Roundcube. This problem has now been fixed, and those using the Google Drive plugin should have no more issues when viewing very long messages.

Did you ever have a problem with your email signature images being blocked on the recipient's end? This is a security feature employed by most respectable email services to make sure the sender doesn't have a way of knowing whether or not their emails have been opened.

The same problems plagued our signature plugin. It made it possible for the users to easily create stunning signatures, only for those signatures to be stripped of their images by services like Gmail. We're pleased to announce that this is no longer a problem! We have introduced a new feature to the signature plugin that enables the users to encode and embed their signature images directly into the email. Embedded images pose no security threat and are not stripped by services like Gmail!
