A few days ago the Roundcube developers released two new versions of the program (1.4.8 and 1.3.15) that contain a number of general improvements and, most importantly, fix two recently reported cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities:
- Fix cross-site scripting (XSS) via HTML messages with malicious svg content (CVE-2020-16145)
- Fix cross-site scripting (XSS) via HTML messages with malicious math content
Our skins and plugins are fully compatible with these Roundcube upgrades, so if you're using the latest version of our software you can safely install Roundcube 1.4.8 or 1.3.15 to keep your server safe.
The Roundcube team has just released a new security upgrade to the Roundcube program (version 1.4.7,) which prevents cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via HTML messages. We have tested the latest version of our skins and plugins with this newly released version and are happy to report that they're fully compatible. If you're running the latest version of our software, you can safely upgrade to Roundcube 1.4.7.

Today we have released a new software upgrade, which fixes a number of bugs and problems. The calendar updates include fixes to recurring events issues, CalDAV errors, date formats, and other aspects of the program operation. The skins update fixes problems with unwanted layout changes when using the skins on mobile devices, as well as some other improvements. The upgrade is available for download in our customer area.
We have just released a new upgrade to our skins and plugins that includes some fixes and UI improvements. Here's the summary of the changes:
We created a system to fix the default PHP date formatting that swaps the day and month values in the dates formatted as d/m/y. The users in the countries where this formatting is common (for example, Brazil) will have no more problems with creating recurring calendar events.
Did you ever have a problem with your email signature images being blocked on the recipient's end? This is a security feature employed by most respectable email services to make sure the sender doesn't have a way of knowing whether or not their emails have been opened.
The same problems plagued our signature plugin. It made it possible for the users to easily create stunning signatures, only for those signatures to be stripped of their images by services like Gmail. We're pleased to announce that this is no longer a problem! We have introduced a new feature to the signature plugin that enables the users to encode and embed their signature images directly into the email. Embedded images pose no security threat and are not stripped by services like Gmail!
We have released a new version of our skins and plugins today. The upgrade focuses on bug fixes and improvements. We eliminated the problems with scroll bars on Elastic-based select boxes; we improved the display handling of invitation events in the calendar; bug fixes were made to the signature plugin; and more.
We recently got some reports that the URL constructed from the PHP $_SERVER variables and used by some of our plugins is not correct on some servers. To get this issue resolved, we added a new config option that allows the admins to specify the URL through which Roundcube can be accessed on their servers. The new config option is called 'overwrite_roundcube_url'. You can find more information about it in the README file of the xframework plugin.
The latest release of the Tag Manger plugin will remain functional for Roundcube 1.3.x, but we will not be issuing any new upgrades to this plugin in the future.
Happy New Year 2020! We're celebrating the turning of the decade by releasing a new upgrade to our skins and plugins!
To start with, the calendar plugin got better at handling event attendee invitations. When you invite someone to an event and the invitation gets accepted, the event will automatically be displayed in the attendee's calendar. If you're inviting someone who doesn't use Roundcube, he or she will be able to easily import the event to their third-party calendar, since the email now includes the event's ICS file.
The new Elastic-based skins got some fixes to their UI: the display of the sidebar and the menu bar, especially evident in the GMail+ skin when running the advert plugin.
We have released an upgrade to the plugin/skin packages that includes some fixes and improvements, especially applicable to those, who use Roundcube 1.4.x. We fixed the logout page errors; problems with some old config options not working properly on RC 1.4; database query quotation problems on Postgres; and a few other minor issues. The new version of the software is available for download in the customer area of our website.
